Perhaps you have heard the expression “it’s what it’s”? What does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper meaning of the expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating above the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that could take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Seeing as how this really is my last life on earth and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
What’s the IT that we are authoring here? In line with the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. Exactly why is it vital that you emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not open to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have cause an array of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that’s shared by a group and that offers the members an object of devotion.”
Who devised the device of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to go back to a great state of being. There’s no thought or action in their state to be, you just are. What mustn’t be forgotten may be the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.
A Course in Miracles and the Message of The Secret
In the last year, many people have approached me asking me about my perspective, and the perspective of A Course in Miracles, on the popular book and film The Secret. I was also recently asked to be involved in an expert panel discussion on The Secret and regulations of attraction at the Body Soul Spirit Expo in Calgary.
As I see it, The Secret offers a few powerful and necessary global messages worth appreciating.
The initial message is our thoughts have a powerful influence on our life. The following insight is that we are entitled to a wealthy life, although true wealth is a lot more than just cash and “toys.” a course in miracles stream soundcloud Instead, it involves feeling fulfilled in every regions of life, including our relationships, career, and health. What we must do is look within to discover if, actually, we feel worth authentic wealth.
Another message that’s subtly conveyed in The Secret, and one that I think to be true, is that whenever we’ve a heartfelt desire and we say yes to doing our part to manifest the desire, synchronicities arise, and dormant forces come alive.
On the flip side, I’m the idea that more “toys” in the form of cars, houses, jet planes, and boats can make us happy and will be the demonstration of our capacity to manifest is potentially damaging and crippling for all people that are already “bankrupt” in the regions of self-love and self-appreciation. The problem with this specific picture is that the desire to own often comes from a feeling of lack rather than feeling of completeness. And as a result of this, whatever we gain in hopes of feeling “full,” whole, happy, or accomplished, will inevitably not work, since we feel a gap internally.
The simple truth is that we are not empty, but already full, and when we understand and feel this to be our new reality, then the outer world begins to “echo” our inner awareness.
A Course in Miracles reminds us that to the degree that we can accept and be truly grateful for the inheritance to be an unbounded, abundant, whole, and unlimited Self, we will attract to ourselves the right outward expressions of our claimed inner worth. This reclaiming of our authentic Self will miraculously bring into manifestation any material items that will serve the more good of both our life and of these around us, and yet we will feel no dependency upon them for the happiness.
